I am a parent, husband and mature student who came to the UK as refugee from Angola so I had to challenge myself to settle in.

I took part in Erasmus because I wanted to find out more about the continental culture, it was the reason I chose the course I'm doing and also it was a lifetime opportunity not to be missed!

I was the only Black student in my class, even though Paris is very cosmopolitan, so I had to go towards others more - but as many wanted to learn English I was very popular!

More students should take part in the programme because it's a life-changing and rewarding experience.
